The Match is making waves at the Korean box office, reaching an impressive milestone!
On April 5, the Korean Film Council confirmed that The Match had surpassed 1 million moviegoers, with a total of 1,056,921 ticket sales as of that morning. This achievement came in less than 11 days since the film’s release on March 26.
To celebrate this remarkable success, actor Lee Byung Hun shared a heartfelt message to his fans. In a special video, he personally expressed his gratitude through brush calligraphy, thanking the moviegoers for their support.
The Match is based on a true story, chronicling the intense rivalry between legendary Go champion Cho Hun Hyun (played by Lee Byung Hun) and his talented protégé, Lee Chang Ho (Yoo Ah In). After losing to his student, Cho Hun Hyun embarks on a journey to reclaim his former glory.
