Ian Wright has stated that Liverpool’s deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is as good as done. Amid increasing speculation, it’s reported that Liverpool is actively pursuing defensive reinforcements this summer, with Kerkez being one of their key targets.
Arne Slot’s Summer Overhaul at Liverpool
While Liverpool celebrates their latest Premier League title victory, preparations for the upcoming season are already underway. With competition from top clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea, Liverpool’s Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is keen on strengthening the squad. Incoming manager Arne Slot is expected to focus on bolstering key areas, including the left-back position.
Despite Andy Robertson’s mixed season and Kostas Tsimikas’ lack of consistency, Liverpool is now seeking a long-term solution at left-back, and 21-year-old Milos Kerkez has emerged as a top target.
Bournemouth’s Willingness to Sell Kerkez
Liverpool’s interest in Kerkez was first reported by TEAMtalk’s Fraser Fletcher in September. Sources now indicate that Bournemouth is open to selling the Hungarian international for a fee of around £45 million.
On Premier League Productions, former Liverpool striker Michael Owen spoke about the growing interest in Bournemouth’s talents, including Kerkez. Owen noted that several top clubs are eyeing Bournemouth players, particularly Semeny and the promising left-back.
Ian Wright’s Confirmation and the Future of Kerkez at Liverpool
In response to Owen’s comments, Ian Wright confidently stated, “Yeah, Huijsen, he’s really impressive. I think Kerkez, that’s probably done, for me.” He continued, “The amount of talk we’ve been doing for so long, that’s probably done, which is a shame. He’s a fantastic player.”
Kerkez’s exciting combination of dynamism and technical skill on the left flank has made him one of the most highly-regarded young defenders in the Premier League. His potential move to Anfield would provide Arne Slot with a young and energetic full-back to help shape Liverpool’s future.
With talks progressing and Liverpool’s interest becoming increasingly clear, it appears to be only a matter of time before Milos Kerkez makes the move to Merseyside.
