In a shocking revelation that has rocked the K-pop industry, a female streamer in her 30s has pleaded guilty to blackmailing Kim Junsu, the beloved idol from JYJ and respected musical actor. The case, which has captured nationwide attention, reveals that she extorted approximately ₩800 million KRW (around $600,000 USD) by threatening to leak recordings of their sexual encounters, conversations, and other private content.
During the first appellate trial hearing on April 10, 2025, at the Seoul High Court, the woman—referred to as “A”—tearfully apologized and begged for forgiveness from Kim Junsu. Her lawyer cited her unstable family background, including her father’s prostate cancer treatment bills and her own struggles with drug addiction, as reasons behind her desperate actions.
Despite her apology, the prosecution is seeking to uphold the original sentence of seven years in prison, previously handed down by the Uijeongbu District Court in February 2025. The court will soon decide whether to reduce her sentence or uphold the full term.
This story brings to light the dark side of fame, emotional manipulation, and the serious consequences of blackmail in Korea’s high-stakes entertainment world.
