Shark: The Storm new poster teases explosive showdown
TVING’s highly anticipated sequel Shark: The Storm has unveiled a gripping new poster, intensifying anticipation ahead of its premiere.
Shark: The Storm new poster highlights Cha Woo Sol’s brutal new battle
Following the 2021 success of Shark: The Beginning, TVING is bringing back Cha Woo Sol’s story in a six-episode drama continuation titled Shark: The Storm. Actor Kim Min Seok reprises his role as Cha Woo Sol, who, after serving time in prison, throws himself into the world of professional mixed martial arts. Just as he begins to reclaim his future, he’s pulled into a deadly struggle with Hyun Woo Yong, portrayed by Lee Hyun Wook—a cold-blooded new adversary with violent intentions.
The newly revealed poster captures the intensity of the fight to come, showcasing the fierce clash between a hardened Cha Woo Sol and the ruthless Woo Yong. Every strike and expression radiates tension, hinting at the physical and emotional war between these two powerful forces.
Cha Woo Sol, once a frightened youth, now stands with unwavering resolve. His clenched fist and steely gaze mark the evolution of someone who’s no longer fighting just to survive—he’s now protecting what he cherishes. Meanwhile, the villainous Hyun Woo Yong looms with calculated menace. As the head of the martial arts association, he uses his position to hide his sadistic instincts, maneuvering like a predator set on destruction.
With Woo Yong orchestrating a treacherous arena, Woo Sol finds himself trapped in a fight he can’t walk away from. The poster’s tagline—“The hand-to-hand combat action between two men begins”—sets the tone for a high-stakes brawl between a hero defending love and a villain driven by control.
Director Kim Geon shared insights into the drama’s core, stating, “Woo Sol is dragged into Woo Yong’s twisted world, forced into a life-or-death battle like a shark that must keep swimming or die. It’s in this trial that Woo Sol becomes a man.”
He also promised action fans plenty to look forward to, adding, “Expect a variety of combat styles, explosive chemistry between Kim Min Seok and Lee Hyun Wook, and raw, emotional performances.”
TVING’s original series Shark: The Storm premieres May 15.
