The Second Shot at Love episode 6 recap begins with a flashback that reveals the emotional aftermath of Ui-joon’s kiss with Geum-ju. After she denies her feelings, Ui-joon disappears without a word. When Geum-ju confronts him at the airport, he insists he doesn’t owe her any explanation. In the present day, he reveals he heard rumors that she pitied him, which pushed him to leave. They share a moment of mutual apology, and he insists he has moved on.
Another flashback dives deeper, showing Geum-ju texting Ui-joon after a blackout. He smiles at her message but is soon confronted by a mysterious man claiming to be his father. The man physically assaults Ui-joon, demanding he pay off his debt and threatening Geum-ju. Fearing for her safety, Ui-joon leaves, and when Geum-ju finds him at the airport, he brushes her off harshly to keep her away from the danger.
In the present, Geum-ju keeps having blush-filled daydreams of drunkenly confessing her feelings to Ui-joon. Meanwhile, Jeong-su and Hyeon-ju experience odd symptoms like chills and cravings, chalking them up as withdrawal symptoms from their recent emotional entanglements.
At a local wedding, the village women criticize Geum-ju as usual. Gwang-ok defends her but later learns about Geum-ju’s clash with Chief Kim. The man has landed in the hospital and plans to sue her. But Geum-ju gains the upper hand thanks to Ui-joon’s dashcam, which captures Kim harassing her and proves she acted in self-defense. The footage also shows Ui-joon waiting two hours for her, which deeply affects her.
Elsewhere, Hyeon-ju tries to downplay her kiss with Seon-wook, but he openly confesses his feelings. Understanding her hesitation, he promises to wait until she’s ready.
Gwang-ok takes a staycation in Seoul after Ui-joon encourages her to care for herself. Geum-ju feels guilty and sends her some money, which Gwang-ok shares with friends who praise Geum-ju. Through a conversation with Nurse Yeong-rong, Geum-ju learns that Nurse Baek has been a protective figure for Ui-joon since their hospital days, essentially like a mother to him.
Later, Geum-ju and Ui-joon overhear villagers gossiping about how Gwang-ok wasn’t invited to the wedding out of fear Geum-ju would come. Ui-joon stands up for her, showing his loyalty. Meanwhile, Hyeon-ju runs into Seon-hwa and her domineering mother-in-law, who insults both Seon-wook and Seon-hwa. Seon-hwa resolves to find a better match for her brother, making Hyeon-ju feel inadequate and prompting her to ghost Seon-wook.
Back with our leads, Geum-ju and Ui-joon visit the mobile van clinic site when a truck suddenly swerves toward them. He narrowly avoids a crash but injures his shoulder. Geum-ju cares for him, and their awkward closeness leaves them both flustered. She later wonders if her racing heart is just another withdrawal symptom.
Ui-joon suspects that his father may have been behind the truck incident. Meanwhile, Geum-ju tinkers with his car and finds an old parking ticket from Ju-yeop’s wedding day. Curious, she calls the venue and learns Ui-joon delayed the newlyweds’ honeymoon just to stay close to her.
She’s moved by this and almost turns to alcohol, but Gwang-ok’s heartfelt text reminds her she has support. Inspired, she buys gifts but finds Gwang-ok drunk when she gets home.
In the Second Shot at Love episode 6 epilogue, Nurse Baek checks on Ui-joon and finds his pills. Saddened, she realizes he’s resumed medication. Ui-joon admits he’s taking them because he’s worried—he has real feelings for Geum-ju. For more recaps, check out the link below.
