Good Boy Episode 4: Ju-yeong’s Chase Ends in Capture
Good Boy Episode 4 picks up right after the explosive confrontation between Dong-ju and Ju-yeong at the office. Tensions run high as Dong-ju punches a glass panel in frustration, shattering it completely. The aftermath is costly—Man-sik scolds him over the impulsive act when a hefty invoice for repairs arrives, totaling 3.3 million won. With nerves frayed and egos bruised, Dong-ju and Jong-hyeon continue to clash—both over investigative strategy and their not-so-subtle competition for Han-na’s attention. The task force ends up splitting into two teams to maximize coverage.
Jealousy and New Leads Emerge
Dong-ju, unable to hide his envy when Han-na is paired with Jong-hyeon, impulsively swaps partners to join her himself. However, their team-up proves ineffective as constant bickering derails their efforts. Meanwhile, Jong-hyeon remains relentless, combing through security footage well into the night and noting an unusual concentration of cigarette butts scattered around a certain area.
Han-na and Jae-hong manage to track down Oh Jong-gu—the man who received the bloodstained watch from Ju-yeong. They confront him with questions about Gyeong-il’s death, but he maintains a calm demeanor and reveals nothing.
A Dark Past Comes to Light
Later, Han-na receives an unexpected ride from Hwang Kyung-chul, who shares sensitive information about her late father. He reveals that in 2008, a member of the Russian mafia was fatally shot, and her father was the lead investigator on the case. Although her father’s death was ruled as unsolved, Kyung-chul suspects foul play, linking it to mafia involvement. He provides Han-na with official documents relating to the investigation—clues that may unravel a larger conspiracy.
Elsewhere, Man-sik follows a lead on the watch. His search leads him to a pawnshop, where he connects the item to a man named Gwang-se, recognized by his bald eagle tattoo. Gwang-se has a history of smuggling vehicles and affiliations with the Golden Bunny gang. He reveals that a notorious car smuggler named Monkey is still operating—and that he’s protected by someone working inside Insung Customs.

Setting a Trap for Monkey
Realizing that Monkey is still in possession of Ju-yeong’s car, the task force devises a plan to trap him using a bait vehicle. Ironically, the car most likely to lure him is one that belongs to the Commissioner himself. With Gwang-se’s cooperation, they secure the car and set the plan in motion.
During a stakeout, Dong-ju and Han-na find themselves in a hilariously awkward position that adds a splash of romantic tension, though they quickly return to mission mode, frustrating Jong-hyeon.
The Bust Goes Wrong
As the operation unfolds at a warehouse, chaos erupts. Just as the team prepares to apprehend Monkey, Dae-yong and his squad interfere, hoping to steal the credit. Despite a brief skirmish, Monkey escapes. Not long after, however, he’s found fatally wounded by the roadside, having been stabbed in the neck with a screw-like blade—likely the work of a professional assassin erasing loose ends. Forensic evidence at the scene includes cigarette butts, echoing those Jong-hyeon had spotted earlier. But once again, the investigation hits a frustrating dead end.
Meanwhile, Man-sik is left to face the wrath of the Commissioner, particularly over the damaged bait vehicle. Yet, despite the setbacks, the sting operation results in several arrests and exposes parts of the smuggling ring—though Commissioner Cho quickly takes full credit for the success.
A Larger Network Unfolds
In a team debrief, Jong-hyeon posits that their case may be tied to both the Russian mafia and a drug smuggling ring operated by an armed Filipino syndicate. While Ju-yeong’s car wasn’t found at the warehouse, they realize Monkey must have had internal help with forged documentation. This revelation leads to the theory that Lee Jin-su was killed because he discovered Ju-yeong’s illicit activities—an act we saw foreshadowed earlier when Ju-yeong burned incriminating files.
Ju-yeong’s fury reaches a boiling point when he violently lashes out at the Section Chief in a bathroom confrontation. With pressure mounting, the team makes one final push.
One Final Chase
Time is of the essence. The squad heads to the docks and begins combing through shipping containers, racing against a 7 p.m. deadline to locate Ju-yeong’s car. To buy time, Dong-ju confronts Ju-yeong directly, acting as a distraction. Meanwhile, the rest of the team successfully finds the vehicle.
This sparks a high-speed chase through the city. Ju-yeong weaves through traffic, trying to evade capture. But Han-na takes a bold stand—literally. She steps into the middle of the road to block his escape. In a dramatic twist, Dong-ju leaps from above and crashes through the windshield, stopping Ju-yeong in his tracks.
Ju-yeong is finally apprehended, and it’s safe to say he won’t be making his flight. While the task force may still have loose threads to tie up, Dong-ju’s intervention marks a temporary but crucial victory. For more recaps, check out the link below.
