All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Starts Filming in July

Fans of Korean zombie thrillers can finally rejoice—All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is officially on its way. The hit Netflix series, which took the world by storm with its first season, will begin filming its long-awaited second season this July, introducing new cast members and a completely original storyline.

Season 1’s Record-Breaking Global Impact

When All of Us Are Dead debuted in January 2022, it exploded onto the global stage. The high school zombie survival series recorded 124.79 million hours viewed in just its first three days and reached a staggering 361.02 million hours within 10 days. It became the fifth most-watched non-English Netflix show of all time, topping the charts in 25 countries and entering the Top 10 in 94 nations. Most notably, it was the first Korean drama to top Netflix’s daily TV rankings in the U.S.

While the show centered on a viral outbreak in a high school, it went far beyond genre conventions. Viewers around the world praised its emotionally rich narrative that explored themes of friendship, sacrifice, fear, and survival. The zombie virus may have been the hook, but the story’s social commentary and emotional depth were what truly set it apart.

New Cast, New Threat in All of Us Are Dead Season 2

Now, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is ready to elevate the stakes. According to reports from News1 and other Korean outlets on June 18, the second season begins filming in July and features a brand-new lineup of talented actors joining familiar faces from Season 1.

New cast members include:

  • Lee Min-jae, who made waves in Weak Hero 2, has been cast as the new male lead.
  • Kim Si-eun, also starring in Squid Game 2, joins as the female lead.
  • Rising actors Yoon Ga-yi (SNL Korea Reboot, Evil Spirit) and No Jae-won (D.P. 2, Squid Game 2) round out the additions.

Their interactions with returning survivors are expected to bring fresh chemistry and emotional tension to the sequel.

Unlike the first season, which was based on a webtoon, Season 2 will feature an entirely original storyline. It begins where Season 1 ended—with the remaining survivors quarantined in an isolated facility. As society adjusts to a stabilized virus, new transfer students arrive, bringing with them mysterious motives and a fresh wave of chaos. The main conflict will center on how these newcomers clash and collaborate with the original characters.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Starts Filming in July
Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead Season 2 begins filming in July with new cast additions and a fresh storyline. Here’s what fans can expect from the K-zombie sequel.

All Eyes on the Next Evolution of K-Zombies

Although Netflix has not yet confirmed a release date, current filming schedules suggest a potential premiere in late 2025 or early 2026. The production team aims to raise the bar with bigger set pieces, emotional complexity, and global relevance.

Filming Season 2 comes with its own set of challenges—but the decision to develop an original story demonstrates Netflix’s confidence in the strength of Korean storytelling. The cast expansion pulls from breakout stars of other global hits, signaling a focus on continuity and talent synergy across its Korean IP universe. Fan expectations are soaring, especially after the intense cliffhangers of Season 1, and the new season promises deeper exploration into the emotional scars, responsibilities, and alliances left behind.

With filming starting in July and a powerful mix of new and returning talent, All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is poised to take the K-zombie genre to even greater heights. As the story world expands beyond Hyosan High School, fans can expect a richer, more intense narrative that dives deeper into human nature and survival in a post-apocalyptic society.
