Our Movie Ep.5 recap picks up with a haunting flashback that rewrites everything fans thought they knew about Seo-yeong and Je-ha’s past. It turns out their first kiss never happened at all — Je-ha rejected Seo-yeong back then, leaving her feelings heartbreakingly one-sided. During Du-young’s funeral, Jin-yeo appeared, stirring old gossip about her affair with Je-ha’s father. Seo-yeong was by Je-ha’s side through that pain too, but he pushed her away, determined not to become his father. When the paparazzi used their private moments for blackmail, Seo-yeong apologised for loving him, only for Je-ha to coldly admit he’d used her feelings to protect the movie by shutting down the scandal.
Back in the present, Je-ha brushes off his unexpected kiss with Da-eum as just a rehearsal, even offering her “tips” before sharply telling her not to use him like that again. Flustered and embarrassed, Da-eum runs off, only to fall sick from the pouring rain. Gyu-young finds her in time and rushes her to the hospital, but Dr Lee takes control — and he’s furious at Je-ha for mocking sick patients and playing with Da-eum’s life for his film.
While recovering, Da-eum remembers her late friend Min-jeong and regrets wasting precious time trapped in hospitals instead of living freely. Desperate to escape, she disguises herself as a doctor to sneak out, but nearly gets caught. She’s rescued by Seo-yeong, who’s there pressuring Dr Kim for answers about Da-eum’s mysterious illness. Dr Lee almost spots them, but Min-jeong’s mother, Seung-hee, distracts him — giving Da-eum and Seo-yeong time to slip away.

Je-ha, meanwhile, can’t shake Dr Lee’s accusations — memories of his sick mother haunt him as he realises he’s repeating old mistakes. The moment he finds out Da-eum’s with Seo-yeong, he drops everything and rushes to her side. Seo-yeong, confused by Je-ha’s protectiveness, demands to know what’s really going on. She hates his secrecy, but Je-ha coldly reminds her they’re not lovers — they owe each other nothing.
In the car, Je-ha tries to drag Da-eum back to the hospital but gives in when she begs to stay away. He brings her to his family home instead, where he scolds her for always apologising and tells her to trust her actions more. He leaves groceries and dinner suggestions, quietly showing he cares even as he keeps his distance.
Meanwhile, Seo-yeong’s career takes another blow when Agent Go tries to push her into Director Park’s next film to patch up her damaged reputation. Exhausted by constant damage control, Seo-yeong drunkenly calls Park out for his shady choices and storms out. Seeing her rebellion as career suicide, Agent Go decides to dig up dirt on Da-eum to blackmail her into signing with her instead.
At the remake’s location meeting, Je-ha is distracted — he’s too busy worrying about Da-eum, who won’t answer his texts because she’s obsessively cleaning his house instead. Seung-won tries to warn Je-ha that he’s in dangerous territory, hinting at scandals where directors get caught juggling romances with multiple leads. Later, Je-ha rushes to check on Da-eum again, noticing the timer on her phone. He sets her alarms on his own phone too, silently vowing to keep her safe.
Despite his protests, Da-eum secretly shows up for the location scouting anyway, with Jun-byoung helping her prepare. When filming wraps, Jun-byoung drunkenly confesses to AD Hong that Je-ha had secretly ordered him to bring Da-eum along. Tipsy, Jun-byoung even starts flirting with Hong, catching her completely off guard.
Je-ha pretends to be annoyed when he learns Da-eum defied him, but he’s quietly touched. Together they visit Gyu-won’s bookstore — the real-life inspiration for Da-eum’s role — and Je-ha is surprised by how deeply Da-eum understands the character. She argues that the story’s kiss must mean something, not just be for show like Je-ha thinks. Finally, Da-eum reveals her secret: she once auditioned for his debut film and has been trying to find him ever since news of the remake surfaced. She downplays her efforts as foolish, but Je-ha reassures her — she can do anything she decides to.
Gathering her courage, Da-eum blurts out the question that’s been eating at her heart: is it so wrong for her to like him? Our Movie Ep.5 recap leaves us right there — with Da-eum’s honest confession, Je-ha’s guilt, and a messy tangle of secrets ready to explode. For more K-Drama recaps, check out the link below.
