Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 11: Ho-su Faces Deafness and Mi-ji’s Choice
Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 11 opens with Mi-ji facing rejection after rejection in her job hunt. Trying to lift her spirits, Ho-su buys them rings and they visit Ro-sa’s restaurant. But just as things feel hopeful, tragedy strikes — Ho-su suddenly loses hearing in both ears. He hides it from Mi-ji and Ro-sa, shutting himself inside his apartment when Mi-ji comes by, worried. Even simple tasks become impossible as Ho-su struggles alone to get to the hospital, where doctors deliver devastating news: he has sudden sensorineural hearing loss. Steroid treatment begins, but the prognosis is grim — he needs to prepare for permanent deafness.
Meanwhile, at KFMC, investigators from the Fair Trade Commission storm in, zeroing in on Gyeong-min over the Sihan Construction Case. News breaks, the CEO explodes in rage, and orders Director Choi to bury the scandal.
At the same time, Tae-i feels triumphant, but Mi-rae wants no part of the chaos. She confides that just showing up at the company still fills her with dread, so she’s ready to quit rather than stick around for revenge.
Determined to protect Mi-rae, Ho-su visits Chung-gu, asking him to take on the sexual harassment case. Despite their messy history, Chung-gu agrees — because deep down, Ho-su is like family to him.
Ho-su also says a bittersweet goodbye to Ro-sa, vaguely explaining his condition but sparing her the worst. Ro-sa warns him not to keep Mi-ji in the dark, but Ho-su can’t bear the thought of Mi-ji seeing him as a burden just when she’s learning to stand on her own.
Still, the lie is hard to hide. At dinner, he can’t hear the waitress switch orders and barely catches Mi-ji’s chatter. In classic K-drama fashion, Ho-su tries to break up with her — but Mi-ji sees right through him. Ho-su confesses he might lose his hearing forever and doesn’t want her life to shrink for him. Mi-ji pleads with him, her words echoing her own heartbreak when she lost her ability to run. But it ends the same way — in tears.

Back home, Mi-rae comforts Mi-ji but it’s Gyeong-gu, true to form, who teases and cheers her up like a best friend should. Elsewhere, Ok-hui visits Wol-sun in hospital and discovers her mother’s decades-old secret: Wol-sun’s husband abused their daughter. Wol-sun hid it to protect Ok-hui from repeating her mistakes. Mother and daughter break down, finally facing the truth together.
At KFMC, Mi-rae leaves the office for good, head high while gossiping colleagues watch. She leaves a final gift for Su-yeon and brushes off Director Choi’s intimidation. One coworker even apologizes for staying silent so long, saying Mi-rae’s courage gave her strength to speak up.
Bun-hong, devastated to learn about Ho-su’s hearing loss, confronts him in his apartment. She reminds him that his father brought them together so they’d hold onto each other — no matter what. Her fierce love for Ho-su shows she sees him as her son.
At the strawberry farm, Mi-rae tells Se-jin she’s turning down his offer — not because it’s not her dream, but because she needs time to grow. For once, she chooses what her heart wants, staying back to finish what she started.
In Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 11’s final moments, Mi-ji finds a letter from the family court with Ho-su’s name, sparking a flood of emotions. Ro-sa urges Mi-ji to do what she’s always done best: stand by Ho-su’s side, no matter how messy or uncertain the future looks. Meanwhile, Ho-su talks to Bun-hong, remembering his father’s words about fighting on the losing side with courage. Inspired, he runs back to Mi-ji’s arms, hugging her tight and begging her not to leave him.
As the episode closes, Su-yeon finally steps out of her room, while Ho-su and Mi-ji find hope again — ready to face whatever comes, together.
