Good Boy Episode 9 Recap: Betrayals, Battles, and Sacrifice
Good Boy Episode 9 kicks off with a flashback to Sao Paulo in 2018, revealing the moment Jong-hyeon twisted his ankle — the result of him saving Han-na from speeding traffic years ago. That injury would worsen, leading to the eye injury that still haunts him now. Even back then, Jong-hyeon’s stubborn will kept him going — a spirit that fuels him in the present as the team faces their fiercest fight yet.
Ju-young has gathered an army, and chaos erupts when he and his men clash with Jong-hyeon’s crew. Jae-hong is soon knocked out, Dong-ju speeds off to help the others, and Han-na holds her ground with a shotgun, buying time as the odds turn against them. But the team’s determination isn’t enough: Ju-young’s forces overpower them, snatch the drugs, and tear off the van’s tracker, leaving the team licking their wounds.
Jae-hong ends up hospitalized with a severe back injury while Han-na, despite appearing captured, secretly clings to the top of the truck hauling the stolen stash. Joon-hyeon and Dong-ju spring into action to find her, following the trail of clues Han-na leaves behind — bits of clothing and even her shoes mark the intersections to guide them.
They discover the truck’s package has been split into multiple vehicles to mislead them, but Han-na’s clue — a glove and a marked license plate, 4131 — gives them a lead. With the mole still at the police station, Man-sik redirects the investigation to Insung Pawnshop where they link up with Geum-nam to locate Gwang-se, their “bald eagle.” Gwang-se, hiding drugs in a teddy bear, swears them to secrecy before revealing Ju-young’s shady dealings with Japanese partners — a betrayal of old ties once handled by the Golden Bunny.
Dong-ju and Jong-hyeon confront the Golden Bunny, who’s been forced into silence by Ju-young’s brutal intimidation, symbolized by metal teeth he leaves behind — a threat to his brother, the Silver Bunny.
Dong-ju, thinking more like a true detective, insists on finding Han-na first, despite his worsening neurological issues that flare up throughout the episode. Meanwhile, Ju-young finalizes a deal with the Yakuza, killing the interpreter to prove he means business.
Han-na, hidden among the smuggled goods, spies on Leo and Yeon-ha and learns that Leo is her father Ji Ho-cheol’s killer — a shocking confirmation of her darkest suspicion. She’s ambushed by Ju-young and Baek, knocked out, and locked inside a container with corpses, bound for a watery grave in the Pacific.

Before they seal her fate, Han-na confronts Leo about her father’s death. Though left trapped, she manages to steal a goon’s phone and makes a desperate, crackling call for help. Her team catches the faint signal and races to the Geumpo Shipyard to board the Russian ship Victory.
Using Gwang-se as bait to slip past guards, Dong-ju finds Han-na in the container, while Jong-hyeon fends off attackers to buy them time. But Baek stabs Jong-hyeon in the gut, and chaos erupts on deck. With the odds stacked, Dong-ju sacrifices himself in a reckless diversion so Jong-hyeon can get Han-na to safety.
As they flee, Leo and his men corner them. In a final act of loyalty, Jong-hyeon shields Han-na, taking a bullet meant for her. He topples into the water, leaving Han-na kneeling in shock as she watches him disappear beneath the waves.
Good Boy Episode 9 ends with betrayals exposed, blood spilled, and Han-na’s world shattered once again.
