But as the hype reached its peak, controversy struck: accusations of plagiarism began circulating online.

On October 10 KST, YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group released the MV for “We Go Up,” the title track from their new mini album. It came as a surprise — no teaser, no countdown, just an unexpected drop that sent fans into a frenzy. However, soon after the release, ATEEZ fans started posting comparisons, alleging that some sequences looked too similar to ATEEZ’s “Bouncy.”

The biggest point of contention? A fight scene featuring Chikita inside a boxing ring, where she charges toward her opponent and lands a slow-motion kick. Fans claimed it looked nearly identical to San’s fight sequence in “Bouncy,” citing similar camera angles, movements, and timing. “No one’s mad about a fight scene,” one fan wrote, “we’re upset that the MV director copied the exact framing and style.”

While YG Entertainment has yet to address the claims, the discussion continues to heat up online, with opinions divided between those calling it coincidence and others demanding creative accountability.
