Meovv Anna Criticized Online for “Free Riding” in the Group
Member Anna from Meovv has recently become the center of heated discussion on Korean online forums, with a wave of posts accusing her of taking a “free ride” in the group. The conversation, which has sparked strong debate among fans and casual viewers, focuses on the belief that Anna contributes the least musically while benefiting the most from her visuals. The Meovv Anna criticism increased especially after recent performances where she had very few lines and reportedly did not sing live for many sections.
Netizens argued that despite having the least vocal parts in Meovv, Anna still seemed to avoid live singing even in moments where other members carried the performance. Critics questioned whether it was fair for her to receive equal stage time and promotional benefits when her on-stage contribution appeared minimal. Some posts labeled her a “free rider,” implying that she relies heavily on her appearance rather than performance skills.

Despite the negativity, other fans defended Anna, arguing that line distribution is controlled by the company and not the artist. They pointed out that visuals are also part of a K-pop group’s role and emphasized that Anna’s popularity brings value to Meovv’s overall branding. Supporters also noted that several idols in the past have gradually improved their skills once given better opportunities.
