Episode 7 of Weak Hero Class 2 delves deep into the struggle between loyalty, self-identity, and the consequences of the violent paths chosen by the characters. The episode begins with a brutal showdown between Hyun-tak, Jun-tae, and members of the Union gang. As the Union gang relentlessly pursues them, the two friends hide under a lorry, believing they’re safe—but their momentary relief is shattered when Seong-mok and Dong-ha track them down. Despite a brutal hit to the head by a motorcycle-riding gang member, Hu-min swoops in just in time to save them. His raw anger and instinctive combat skills help him overpower Seong-mok and Dong-ha. In a moment of intense emotion, Hu-min nearly strangles Dong-ha to death, but it’s his friends, particularly Jun-tae, who pull him back from the brink of going too far. The group rushes to the hospital when they receive word of Si-eun’s accident, leaving Hu-min in a daze of mixed guilt and confusion.
Si-eun’s life hangs in the balance, and his mother confirms that he is stable but still unconscious. She warns Hyun-tak, Jun-tae, and Hu-min to stay away from Si-eun, her worry for him heightened by their dangerous influence. Despite her warnings, the boys stay by Si-eun’s side, not only out of concern but because they are integral to his recovery.
Back at home, Hu-min faces an emotional confrontation with his father. His father prepares breakfast for him and, in an unexpected gesture of kindness, tells Hu-min to be good to his friends, subtly acknowledging that Hu-min’s bond with them is a significant part of his life. However, the words only deepen Hu-min’s feelings of guilt and helplessness, leading him to a breakdown in front of his father. This raw, emotional scene emphasizes how tangled Hu-min’s loyalty is—toward his family, his friends, and the Union.
Meanwhile, Jun-tae makes the bold decision to take the missing piece of the ledger to the police, hoping it might be a key to dismantling the Union’s operations. However, the encounter with the police quickly reveals the system’s indifference to justice. Disillusioned, Jun-tae is dragged into a brutal trap set by the Union gang. He is taken to one of their warehouses, where Baek-jin orders his brutal beating. Despite the physical torture, Jun-tae refuses to back down, offering to delete any evidence of the ledger only if Baek-jin agrees to leave his friends alone. This defiance sparks a deeper conflict between the two, as Baek-jin grows increasingly anxious about losing control.
As Jun-tae struggles in the warehouse, Seong-je—a former member of the Union gang—awakens to the commotion. Admiring Jun-tae’s unwavering loyalty to his friends and Eunjang High, Seong-je decides to help him escape. With impressive ease, he dispatches the Union members and calls Hu-min and Hyun-tak for backup. Seong-je also asks Hu-min an intriguing question: is he the top dog at Eunjang High? From Seong-je’s perspective, Jun-tae might be the one leading the charge, and perhaps even Si-eun too. This moment underscores the ongoing internal struggle for power and leadership among the group of friends.
In a dramatic shift, CEO Choi arrives at the bowling alley, furious over the Union gang’s failure to protect the ledger. He severely punishes the gang members and reminds them that his power is absolute—he could end Baek-jin at any moment. This ominous warning sets the stage for the eventual showdown.
The tension comes to a head when Hu-min arrives at Yeoil High, publicly challenging Baek-jin to a fight using a megaphone. He demands that Baek-jin pick a date, and if Eunjang High wins, the Union will disband. This challenge sends shockwaves through the high school, leaving everyone at Eunjang High both excited and fearful of the impending battle. As Hu-min calls Hyun-tak to inform him of the challenge, the stakes are raised even higher.
In a touching moment of reflection, Hu-min visits Si-eun in the hospital. Standing outside Si-eun’s room, he apologizes for his involvement in the events that led to the accident and for the role Baek-jin played in it. Si-eun’s mother invites Hu-min in, and the doctors reveal that while Si-eun is stable, his nervous system was affected by the accident, and his body needs rest to recover. Si-eun is trapped in a dreamlike state, facing his past struggles represented by Beok-seon in a boxing ring. However, Si-eun wakes up, making a firm decision to return to his friends and his life. He insists on seeing Su-ho, and Hu-min reassures him that Su-ho is stable.
As Si-eun visits Su-ho in the hospital, he apologizes for his delayed arrival and for forgetting the lessons Su-ho taught him about appreciating friends. He expresses his desire to do for his new friends what Su-ho did for him—be a good, loyal friend. The episode closes with Si-eun asking his friends in the hospital lobby what their plans are regarding Baek-jin. This sets the stage for the next battle, both emotionally and physically, as the group prepares for the inevitable confrontation with the Union.
