The movie kicks off at a busy construction site where Levon Cade (Jason Statham) oversees a group of workers as they prepare for the day’s labor. Levon has built a strong bond with the Garcia family, the company’s owners, treating them like his own kin.
Not long into the workday, Levon spots a group of thugs harassing one of his younger coworkers. When his polite warning goes ignored, and the assault continues, he responds by pelting the attackers with a bucket full of nails, then single-handedly subdues them all with brutal efficiency. Reinforcements arrive for the thugs, but Levon fends them off with the same cold precision. The young coworker, amazed, asks how Levon managed it, but Levon brushes it off and tells him to return to work. Watching from a distance is Jenny Garcia (Arianna Rivas), the teenage daughter of the family. She keeps quiet about what she saw but makes Levon promise he has her back — a promise he solemnly gives.
At home, Levon is a devoted single father to his daughter, Meredith, affectionately called “Merry” (Isla Gie), who currently lives with her maternal grandfather, Dr. Roth (Richard Heap). Roth harbors deep resentment toward Levon, believing him responsible for the death of his daughter—Levon’s late wife. However, Levon tells his lawyers that she had taken her own life during their military deployment. Though Roth has the financial backing to keep Levon entangled in custody disputes, Levon is determined to fight for his parental rights using his own means.
Meanwhile, Jenny goes out partying with friends one evening. A criminal duo, Artemis (Eve Mauro) and Viper (Emmett J. Scanlan), surveil the club, hunting for a girl to abduct for their client. Jenny gets separated while helping a drunken friend and is swiftly captured. They muffle her with a glue trap and throw her into a van.
On Monday, Jenny’s distraught parents, Joe (Michael Peña) and Carla (Noemi Gonzalez), come to Levon for help. They fear the police are useless and are aware of Levon’s past in the Green Berets. Levon initially says that part of his life is behind him. However, after speaking with an old war comrade, Gunny Lefferty (David Harbour), who is blind and grateful to Levon for saving him during combat, Levon reconsiders. He returns to Joe to assure him that he sees the Garcias as his own family and subtly signals he’ll find Jenny.
Levon begins by tracing Jenny’s last known location — the club. His search leads him to Johnny (David Witts), a bartender tied to the criminals. Levon storms Johnny’s apartment and subjects him to waterboarding for information. Two armed associates of Johnny arrive mid-interrogation. Levon uses Johnny as a shield and dispatches the other two before taking their money. The triple homicide is later discovered by Wolo Kolisnyk (Jason Flemyng), a high-ranking figure in the Bratva crime syndicate. Wolo deduces that someone is now actively targeting them.
Later, Levon breaks into Wolo’s mansion after witnessing him abuse his wife. He incapacitates Wolo and strings him up over a pool. Levon interrogates him and hears a cryptic reference to “Dimi.” When Wolo becomes belligerent, Levon severs the rope, letting him drown. Wolo’s brother, Symon Kharchenko (Andrej Kaminsky), head of the organization, finds the body and sends his two sons, Danya and Vanko (Greg Kolpakchi and Piotr Witkowski), to hunt Levon down.
Levon, still seeking Dimi, arranges a meeting with Dutch (Chidi Ajufo), a local drug boss. Dutch tests Levon by sending his thugs after him, but Levon easily dispatches them. Dutch realizes Levon is an ex-soldier like himself, forming a reluctant respect between them. Dutch refers him to Artemis and her associate Dougie (Cokey Falkow) for “business.”
Meanwhile, Artemis and Viper deliver Jenny to their client, Mr. Broward (Kenneth Collard), a sexual predator. As he attempts to assault her, Jenny reveals she is awake and viciously bites a chunk from his face, infuriating him.
Levon continues posing as a dealer and gains access to a biker bar where Dimi operates. But Artemis, watching via security cameras, detects his true intentions and sends goons after him. Levon flees on a motorcycle but crashes into a police cruiser. Unfortunately, the responding officers — Sergeant Von Trask (Muki Zubis) and Deputy Detweiler (Alex Bracq) — are corrupt and working for the criminals. Danya and Vanko arrive, bribe the cops, and take Levon into custody.
In the van, they attempt to torture Levon, but he launches into combat, turning the vehicle into a chaotic battleground. In the scuffle, the driver is shot in the head, and Levon ultimately kills both brothers before ditching the van into the river. Their bodies are later discovered by Symon, who declares a personal vendetta against Levon.
Back at Dr. Roth’s house, Bratva thugs stage an attack, targeting Levon’s family. When Roth fails to pick up Merry from school, Levon realizes something’s wrong and rushes to the school. He retrieves his daughter and returns home to find the house engulfed in flames. He heroically rescues Roth. Though Roth blames him for the chaos, Merry defends her father, stating that he saved them. Levon relocates Merry to stay safely with Gunny and his wife.
After Jenny’s bite ruined the trafficking deal, Dimi orders Artemis and Viper to kill her. Jenny causes their car to crash and escapes. She spots a police cruiser—only to find it’s the corrupt officers. They recapture her and bring her back to the compound. Broward decides she’ll still be useful—as long as she remains conscious for what he plans.
Symon visits Dimi’s nightclub with a violent bodyguard named Karp (Max Croes), who fires a gun into the ceiling to intimidate everyone. Symon warns Dimi that Levon is coming for him. After Symon departs, Levon indeed appears and shoots Dimi through the hand before forcing him to guide him to the compound.
Upon arrival, Levon forces Dimi to step out. Dimi offers a weak justification, claiming he’s merely a cog in a larger machine. Levon kills him with a shot to the head and advances on the compound.
Inside, as Broward prepares to assault Jenny again, Levon throws a grenade to initiate his attack. He tears through the Bratva soldiers with lethal force. Dutch and his biker gang arrive to stop him. Levon eliminates the rest of the bikers and engages Dutch in a brutal knife fight, emerging victorious and showing respect for his opponent before moving on.
He hears Jenny’s cries and locates her. Levon kills Broward, while Jenny uses her legs to trap Artemis. Levon crushes Viper’s neck with an elbow strike, and Jenny strangles Artemis to death using her thighs. Levon sets her free, but they still must face Karp and two remaining guards outside.
Von Trask and Detweiler arrive, but Karp mistakes them for legitimate officers and kills them in a barrage of gunfire, blowing up their cruiser. Levon dispatches Karp and the remaining thugs before escaping with Jenny on a motorcycle.
Symon watches helplessly as they disappear. He calls his brother, Yuri (Merab Ninidze), who refuses to help, saying Levon — “the devil” — got what he came for. Realizing he’s alone, Symon erupts in a rage-filled scream.
Levon brings Jenny back home for a tearful reunion with her grateful parents. He then heads to Gunny’s house to be reunited with Merry. Over breakfast, Gunny tells him something Levon has long needed to hear — that he’s finally home.
