Benjamin Sesko Begins to Find Form at Manchester United
Benjamin Sesko’s arrival at Manchester United has generated both excitement and scrutiny, as the 22-year-old Slovenian striker adapts to life at one of Europe’s most high-profile clubs. Joining United from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window for a reported £73.7 million, Sesko chose the Red Devils over interest from Newcastle United and Arsenal, with the latter signing Viktor Gyokeres instead. Expectations for the young forward have been sky-high since his move to Old Trafford.
Sesko’s early days in England were challenging. Across his first six appearances under Ruben Amorim, he struggled to make an impact, failing to score and raising doubts about his ability to adapt to the Premier League’s pace and physicality. Yet, the Slovenian has recently begun to settle, netting two goals in his last two matches and reigniting hopes that he can justify his substantial transfer fee and secure a key role in United’s attack. With a major showdown against Premier League champions Liverpool approaching, Sesko has the perfect stage to prove his critics wrong.

Not all opinions have been glowing. On the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Ferdinand expressed concern over Sesko’s integration, noting a lack of support from creative teammates:

“The one I’m worried about is Sesko. He ain’t getting no chances man, he ain’t getting no opportunities, there’s nothing created for him… A new striker comes in the football club, gets in the team, you’ve got to think about creating chances for him. Getting him on the end of things.”
Ferdinand’s comments underline the importance of United’s midfield and attacking players providing consistent service to the new striker, as without it, Sesko’s development could be slowed despite his evident talent.
As the season unfolds, all eyes will remain on Benjamin Sesko Manchester United to see whether he can silence doubters and cement his place as a reliable goal scorer at Old Trafford. If he maintains his recent momentum and builds chemistry with his teammates, early skepticism may soon be replaced with praise for a young forward capable of thriving at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
