The eighth episode of Channel A’s romance reality show Heart Pairing, which aired on Friday, May 2, continued to follow the romantic journey of the eight cast members—Jimin, Jeon Yeon, Woojae, Jeyeon, Chanhyeong, Changhwan, Chae-eun, and Sky—as they navigate their temporary contract relationships in Seoul’s Pairing House.
On the previous broadcast, viewers saw each participant pair off for a 3-day contract romance through a first-come-first-serve dating application process. The couples were: Jimin & Jeon Yeon, Woojae & Jeyeon, Chanhyeong & Sky, and Changhwan & Chae-eun. Among them, the sweet chemistry between Jimin and Jeon Yeon stood out as they enjoyed a Seoul city date full of casual conversation, laughter, and an increasingly natural connection.
In this latest episode, Jimin and Jeon Yeon’s relationship takes center stage once again. With their short-term contract nearing its end, both struggled to hide their emotions. “Three days is too short,” one confessed, capturing the bittersweet feeling of a budding romance under a ticking clock. Jimin, in particular, openly shared his feelings, saying, “I think I’ll be jealous if I see you dating someone else after this… What should I do starting tomorrow?” In a playful yet sincere moment, he added, “Should we try this for three more days?”—eliciting laughter and heart flutters alike.
As their date continued, Jimin raised a more serious question, hinting at long-term possibilities: “Do you like babies? How many kids would you want if we got married?” His unexpected shift into talking about the future left Jeon Yeon visibly flustered—what MC Choi Si-won humorously dubbed a “father-in-law level ment”. The moment drew applause and admiration from the studio, with Choi Si-won even joking, “It felt like a Kim Eun-sook drama monologue!”, referring to the acclaimed screenwriter known for her romantic dialogue.
With only a short time left in their “contract” love, emotions are running high and questions about what comes next are surfacing for all participants. As the couples continue their exploration of love under unconventional terms, viewers are left wondering which relationships might blossom beyond the show.
‘Heart Pairing’ airs Fridays at 10:50 p.m. KST on Channel A, continuing to captivate audiences with its heartfelt portrayals of connection, vulnerability, and romance in the modern age.
