Choo Sung Hoon’s ‘Men To Man’ to Drop on May 11

BIG Ocean ENM, a general entertainment company, will release Choo Sung Hoon’s special song “Men To Man,” featured on tvN STORY’s trot survival show Handsome Trot, through online music platforms at 6 p.m. KST on May 11.

“Men To Man” explores the theme of lasting friendship and emotional maturity, reflecting on the realization that, with age, genuine lifelong companions matter more than the many friends one may have had in youth. The track is said to capture Choo Sung Hoon’s heartfelt emotions and unique vocal tone, aiming to deliver a resonant message to listeners. The song was composed by veteran hitmaker Yoon Il-sang, who reportedly crafted the title, lyrics, and melody after hearing Choo’s personal stories and musical preferences. Notably, classical guitarist Fatty Ttangchi added depth and texture to the track with his intricate yet colorful guitar accompaniment.

The collaboration between composer Yoon Il-sang and Choo Sung Hoon is drawing attention. Known primarily as a mixed martial artist and YouTuber, Choo has recently been expanding his presence in the entertainment world. On Handsome Trot, he impressed viewers with his unexpected trot vocal skills. His rendition of the classic “Come Back to Busan Port” earned praise for its emotional sincerity and vocal warmth.

Composer Yoon Il-sang is celebrated for his diverse portfolio, having produced numerous chart-topping songs across genres. His notable works include Lee Eun-mi’s ballad “I Have a Lover,” Cool’s upbeat “Woman on the Beach,” and Turbo’s “Love Is… (3+3=0).” He also served as the music director for the film The Roundup: Punishment (Crime City 4), showcasing his versatility in both commercial music and film scoring. His partnership with Choo Sung Hoon is expected to yield a unique musical synergy.

Meanwhile, Handsome Trot is a trot survival program on tvN STORY, where 12 celebrities from various fields competed for the coveted title of “T4.” The winners earned the opportunity to debut with a professionally produced trot single. The show concluded last month with the final T4 lineup revealed, including Choo Sung Hoon.
