Mercy for None Episode 3: Gi-jun’s Bloody Mission Escalates
Mercy for None Episode 3 picks up with Chairman Bong-san desperate to protect his son Jun-mo and take down Gi-jun. He tries to hire an assassin, but the killer refuses, saying he’s not skilled enough to defeat someone like Gi-jun. Bong-san then instructs his men to move Jun-mo to a safe house and tells another to look deeper into Gi-seok’s death.
At the De’cro Hotel, Jun-mo resists Chun-seok’s efforts to evacuate him, frustrated that so much effort is being spent over “just one man.” But before long, Gi-jun violently storms into the hotel. Chun-seok successfully escapes with Jun-mo while Lee Dong-kyung is left to fight off Gi-jun.
Meanwhile, Sim Seong-won prepares to flee, but Gi-jun shows up and gives him a final ultimatum—he has one day to uncover Jun-mo’s location.
Seong-cheol and Geum-son’s Dangerous Alliance
Elsewhere, Seong-cheol becomes increasingly suspicious of Geum-son after recalling his cryptic comments. He searches Chairman Ju-woon’s house and uncovers Geum-son’s hidden surveillance setup. When Seong-cheol confronts him, Geum-son doesn’t back down—instead, he proposes an alliance, suggesting that the two of them could destroy Bongsan Group together.
At the safe house, Jun-mo, still in hiding, asks Chun-seok about Gi-jun. That sparks a flashback to 11 years ago when Ju-woon and Bong-san were rising under Chairman Oh’s leadership. During a violent clash with a Busan gang, Gi-jun appeared and turned the tide, helping Ju-woon and Bong-san win favor with Chairman Oh. However, that shift in power sparked envy from Oh’s son, Seung-won.
When Seung-won tried to eliminate Ju-woon and Bong-san, Gi-jun retaliated by killing him. He then pushed Ju-woon to strike first before Chairman Oh could make a move. Eventually, Gi-jun slaughtered Chairman Oh’s entire inner circle, securing Ju-woon and Bong-san’s rise. However, one of Chairman Oh’s men once implied Gi-jun wasn’t the one who killed Seung-won. As a consequence for igniting the bloodshed, Gi-jun had his Achilles tendon cut and was exiled.

Gi-jun Faces Deadly Traps and Assassin Ambush
In the present day, Gi-jun receives a warning from Byung-ho, who advises him not to take on the full force of the Bongsan Group. Gi-jun remains undeterred. At the same time, Bong-san’s personal investigation leads him to a detective named Han Seok-yun, who handled Gi-seok’s case.
Back at the safe house, Jun-mo makes his own move—he contacts the foreign assassins introduced earlier and hires them to kill Gi-jun.
Soon after, Gi-jun meets Chun-seok, who seems to betray Bong-san by giving Gi-jun Jun-mo’s location. But this is all a setup—Jun-mo had convinced Chun-seok that taking Gi-jun out would ultimately save them both.
Gi-jun follows the address to a dilapidated hotel and is immediately ambushed by the two assassins. True to form, he kills them both with brutal efficiency. Using one of their phones, he calls Jun-mo and calmly warns him that their encounter is inevitable.
Truth Revealed in Episode 3’s Epilogue
In the closing moments of Mercy for None Episode 3, the real shock comes to light: Gi-seok—not Gi-jun—was the one who killed Chairman Oh’s son. This revelation casts the entire conflict in a new light, suggesting that Gi-jun may have been blamed and punished for something he never did. For more recaps, check out the link below.
