Actress Gong Hyo Jin gave fans an intimate glimpse into her hectic New York life as she embarks on the renovation of her new U.S. home. On April 16, the star uploaded a vlog titled “What did I wear and see in the U.S.?” to her personal YouTube channel, “For Now, Gong Hyo Jin.”
The video documents her journey through multiple furniture and interior design stores across New York City, alongside her interior designer, as she prepares to fully outfit her soon-to-be home. “This time, I want to decide on all my home essentials,” she shared, exploring showrooms filled with stylish sofas, lighting options, and tiles. Despite the abundance of beautiful choices, Gong admitted, “It’s not going to be easy choosing, but if I have to decide quickly, I usually do.”
As the vlog continues, she visits more stores and finds inspiration in one particular showroom, saying, “This is exactly how I’d like my living room to be. I wonder how big ours will be.” However, the renovation process proves to be daunting. She visits her under-construction New York home, revealing the steep entrance staircase and pointing out structural changes in progress: “We’re planning to remove these walls, this door, and even the stairs.”
Standing in the middle of the dusty construction zone, Gong sighed, “It’s kind of overwhelming. We’ll have to see how it transforms.” Despite the pressure, she powered through meetings—even on the day of her return flight—remarking, “I didn’t even eat today. The fatigue is no joke.”
The vlog offered a raw and relatable perspective on the challenges of home renovation, showing not just the glamour of interior design, but the emotional and physical toll it can take—even on a seasoned celebrity like Gong Hyo Jin.
