Good Boy Episode 8 Recap: A Deadly Ambush Unfolds
Good Boy Episode 8 kicks off with Han-na narrating how some days hit you like a stray bullet — and for her, that “bullet” is the kiss she shares with Dong-ju, picking up right where Episode 7 ended. Han-na lets Dong-ju spend the night but he sleeps in while she heads to work for the big community day event at the Insung Metropolitan Police Agency.
The whole team is busy entertaining local kids, though the commissioner stays grumpy — until Dong-ju’s surprise massage earns him a reluctant smirk and a 30-day suspension. With that unexpected break, the team decides to target the drug supply chain linked to Bbong-pil’s seized materials instead of going straight for the big bosses.
Meanwhile, Yeon-ha and the syndicate get frustrated with Ju-young. Their gear should already be flooding the streets but a shipping delay holds everything up. Ju-young loves watching Dong-ju’s squad squirm but his arrogance may cost him. He personally heads to Insung Port to oversee the shipment of ephedrine — unaware that the Good Boy team has traced it too.
Man-sik, still scratching at nasty red fire ant bites, accidentally helps them connect the dots: the same ants were found at the port last year with cargo routed through Russia — just like this shipment. The team shows up in hazmat suits posing as quarantine workers, only to corner Yeon-ha and slap cuffs on her. She tries to rile up Jong-hyeon and even fakes a seizure, then manages to slip away — but not before they secure the ephedrine.

Chaos strikes when Jong-hyeon, who’s allergic to fire ant bites and terrified of needles, gets bitten again. He begs his teammates not to stab him with an EpiPen so Dong-ju knocks him out cold to save him, adding a rare moment of humor.
With the drugs in hand, the team celebrates with a hearty meal. Jong-hyeon offers Dong-ju his storage room to crash in. There, Dong-ju stumbles on old newspaper clippings about Jong-hyeon’s fencing past — and the eye injury that ruined his career, ironically on the same side Dong-ju once punched him.
Back in the shadows, Ju-young fumes when he learns the drugs are gone. He tasks Gwang-se — who’s surprisingly alive despite that assassination attempt — to feed misleading info back to the team. This leads them to believe there’s a mole inside the agency, setting off paranoia just as Ju-young sets his next trap.
With the commissioner conveniently redirecting riot police to city hall to contain protesters, the drug transport leaves HQ under-protected. As the convoy rolls through Jungdong Tunnel, Ju-young’s crew ambushes it in dramatic fashion.
Each team member finds themselves fighting for survival in the tunnel chaos. Jae-hong’s car flips. Dong-ju fends off a full gang of motorcyclists — barely surviving the brutal fight. But for the rest of the squad, the battle’s outcome hangs in the balance.
Good Boy Episode 8 ends on a nerve-racking cliffhanger, with the team’s fate and the stolen drugs all riding on what happens next.
