JTBC’s upcoming action-comedy drama Good Boy has released a striking set of character posters, offering fans a deeper look at the fierce, justice-driven squad led by Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun.
Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun Lead “Good Boy” as Gritty Ex-Athletes Turned Cops
In Good Boy, a team of former national athletes trades in their medals for police badges as they battle crime and corruption. Among them is Park Bo Gum as Yoon Dong Joo, a former boxing gold medalist turned rookie officer, who brings raw energy and stubborn pride to his role. His poster captures the toll of his journey—bloodied, bandaged hands and a fire-lit stare that screams, “I never retreat.” Park Bo Gum described him as “a bulldozer who punishes lowly injustice,” underlining his fierce, unrelenting drive.
Kim So Hyun plays Ji Han Na, a former Olympic shooting champion known as the “Goddess of Shooting.” Now a Special Forces corporal, her steady aim and laser-sharp focus radiate from the poster. She’s described as a “radar”—cold on the outside, but burning with red-hot passion on the inside. “She’s precise, logical, and never loses her cool,” Kim explained.
Posters Reveal Complex Layers Behind Each Character
Lee Sang Yi appears as Kim Jong Hyun, a fencing silver medalist and now a sharp-minded inspector. With a crack in his glasses symbolizing his vulnerability, he embodies the meticulous strategist of the team. “The crack may be risky, but I can’t give up these glasses—they’re a part of me,” Lee said, portraying a character with quiet conviction.
Heo Sung Tae takes on the role of Go Man Sik, the Special Forces team’s grounded leader and former national wrestling champ. His poster leans into themes of patience and coordination—he’s the glue that holds the volatile team together. “He’s like a father figure—anxious, yes, but always moving forward for those he cares about,” Heo shared.
Tae Won Suk plays the strong-yet-gentle Shin Jae Hong, once a national discus thrower. With his massive frame and contrasting boyish grin, his poster teases hidden strength waiting to explode. “He’s a pine tree—consistent and reliable,” Tae explained, noting his character’s inner warmth and resolve.
Oh Jung Se’s Villain Breaks the Mold
Standing apart is Oh Jung Se as Min Joo Young, the dark-hearted villain who poses as a customs officer. His eerie black poster, marked with an “X” instead of a sport symbol, and his direction facing away from the others, sets an ominous tone. “We must remember these monsters and hold them accountable,” Oh said, revealing the thematic weight of his character—evil hiding in plain sight.
Good Boy premieres soon on JTBC, promising not just action and humor, but a deeper exploration of justice, resilience, and teamwork.
