In Heavenly Ever After Episode 7, Som-I catches sight of a man wearing a shirt that bears an image from her nightmare. Overwhelmed by a mix of fear and rage, the memory visibly disturbs her. Later, after returning to the heavenly realm, she confides in Nak-jun about what she saw and how it made her feel.
Meanwhile, more departed pets arrive in heaven. Jjajang, Mandu, and Jjampong warmly welcome the new dogs and guide them through various therapeutic sessions. These spiritual treatments help the canines cope with traumas from their earthly lives—whether it’s separation anxiety, self-esteem issues, or obsessive behaviors. Eventually, the guides bring the newcomers to the radiant gateway of reincarnation. To everyone’s surprise, Mandu begins to emit a glow, signaling his readiness to be reborn.
Elsewhere in heaven, Hae-suk begins experiencing a mysterious unease. At the same time, Young-ae makes the unexpected decision to romantically pursue the heavenly president, much to his horror. He hastily escapes her advances and instead takes time to advise the three dog companions on the concept of reincarnation. He explains that heaven isn’t a final resting place but rather a transitional space meant to spiritually prepare souls for their next life. Mandu is then offered the chance to choose his rebirth location—though the condition remains that he must return as a dog.

Hae-suk Faces Anxiety in Earthly and Heavenly Tensions
While Hae-suk and Nak-jun are watching a televised heavenly debate about marriage versus divorce, things get more complicated. A speaker in favor of divorce blames breakups on meddling mothers-in-law, which adds to Hae-suk’s growing anxiety. It doesn’t help that the pro-marriage speaker calls her and Nak-jun’s union an exemplary one. Coincidentally, Nak-jun’s mother shows up at their house afterward, quietly inspecting everything before leaving, once again disapproving of Hae-suk without stating a clear reason.
The following day, Hae-suk visits the church and discovers the pastor is unwell. She cooks porridge and a couple of side dishes for him. Their quiet time together feels deeply maternal, almost like a substitute for the son he never had.
Meanwhile, Nak-jun escorts Som-I back to Earth for a heavenly assignment. He checks in on a grieving dog owner and encourages her to write a letter to her deceased pet. In heaven, the dog receives it and sends a heartfelt reply, which reaches the woman in her dreams. Back in heaven, Mandu is lectured about making the right reincarnation choice. He eventually comes back to Earth as a puppy adopted by a homeless man. Though the circumstances are rough, Mandu finally experiences the warmth he longed for in his previous life.
At the same time, Som-I starts having fragmented flashbacks of her past—one particularly haunting scene shows her pleading with a man wearing the same shirt from her vision.
Hae-suk and Nak-jun Struggle With Family Conflicts
Later, Nak-jun’s mother pays the couple another visit, and once again, she departs feeling let down. This time, her arrival coincides with Hae-suk dressing Nak-jun more formally, swapping his casual shirt for a suit. The next day, Hae-suk returns to the church, digs up sweet potatoes with the pastor, and shares another cozy meal with him.
Meanwhile, Nak-jun’s mother confides in Young-ae. She admits that while she’s aware of Hae-suk’s discomfort around her, it stems from her own previous coldness. Still, she truly cares about her daughter-in-law. Before she leaves for good, she bumps into Nak-jun and tells him to take care of Hae-suk, making it clear she won’t be back.
Afterward, Nak-jun and Hae-suk have a heated discussion. Nak-jun urges her to make a better effort with his mother, especially since she passed away young. But Hae-suk reveals that her unease wasn’t about his mother—it was how Nak-jun seemed distant and unfamiliar whenever she was around.
Som-I’s Memories Break Through
In the final moments of Heavenly Ever After Episode 7, Som-I, still on Earth with Nak-jun, suddenly attacks an elderly man who wears the same shirt from her memory. As she launches at him, more suppressed memories return—most disturbingly, an image of her choking a man who had previously abused her.
