Ahn Yu-jin of the girl group IVE shared a heartfelt story involving her father and her rising fame in entertainment, revealing a personal gesture of gratitude inspired by her recent experiences on television.

In the May 2 episode of YouTube channel Channel Twelve, Ahn Yu-jin appeared alongside producing director Na Young-seok for a spring outing, following their collaboration on the tvN variety show Earth Arcade (Earth Entertainment Room). During the segment, Ahn climbed into a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, casually remarking, “My dad is also in a Benz now. It’s the same model as this one.”

This lighthearted comment revealed a meaningful story behind the car. Ahn explained that her father, after watching her drive a Mercedes-Benz on a past episode of Earth Arcade 3, expressed admiration for the car. Wanting to do something special, Ahn decided to gift him the same model—an expression of both familial love and appreciation.

Ahn Yu-jin’s driving journey began as part of the variety show’s spin-off Jumping Quest of the Earth Arcade (Jilak’s Jumping Bread) where she obtained her driver’s license. She later impressed viewers and castmates by securing first place in a parking challenge featured in Earth Arcade 3. Her composed and capable driving on-screen even caught the attention of Mercedes-Benz, with the company reportedly contacting the show’s production team after the episode aired.
