Jeong Dong-won delighted fans with his down-to-earth charm and candid reflections during a recent appearance on the web entertainment show Do You Want to Eat Ramen?, aired on the YouTube channel ‘Idol Strike’. The singer opened up about his current projects, personal interests, and bold plans for the future, all while showcasing the maturity and versatility that have made him a rising star in Korean entertainment.
Reflecting on His Musical Journey
Now 19 years old, Jeong Dong-won looked back at his journey through the entertainment world, revealing he first crossed paths with Lee Dae-hwi during his JD1 activities. A longtime fan of Wanna One, he joked, “Meeting him made me feel like a boss.”
He also spoke proudly about his first full-length album, Gift of Kidari, released in March 2025. Its title track, “Huh!”, includes a self-initiated rap feature by Kim Haon, whom Dong-won reached out to directly via SNS DMs, saying, “I’ve been a fan since his contest days, and I was thrilled when he said yes.”
A Tour That Redefines His Image
Currently headlining a national tour titled Jung Dongwon 棟동 Story Poetry Painting, the singer is excited to show fans a different side of his artistry. “People think of trot and ballads when they hear my name, but there’s so much more. Looking to the future, Jeong Dong-won has his sights set on college and a career in acting and musical theater. Drawing from previous experience in the film New Normal and the drama No Need, he expressed interest in tackling more intense genres like noir.
