On April 15, the agency issued an official statement announcing that they have filed legal complaints in response to malicious posts, false rumors, and defamatory content targeting the beloved actor.
The agency stated, “Recently, malicious posts, comments, and false information targeting our artist Kim Soo Hyun have been indiscriminately posted and circulated online. In particular, baseless speculative content and unverified claims have been continuously and repeatedly shared, damaging the artist’s reputation.”
GOLDMEDALIST revealed that the legal action, submitted to the authorities on April 14, includes charges under the Information and Communications Network Act for defamation and under the Criminal Act for insult. They also emphasized that online slander, personal attacks, sexual harassment, and the spread of fake news will not be tolerated.
In addition, the agency condemned “cyber wreckers” who exploit anonymity to circulate fake videos and shorts on platforms like YouTube and X (formerly Twitter). They assured fans that they are working with overseas legal teams to pursue these perpetrators globally.
“We will continue to file additional complaints and promise to protect our artist’s rights through strong legal measures,” the statement concluded.
