On the May 1st episode of tvN’s variety show Handsome Guys, actor Lee Yi-kyung shared a surprising piece of his childhood history—he once lived in Canada as a student. The episode featured Cha Tae-hyun, Kim Dong-hyun, Lee Yi-kyung, Shin Seung-ho, and special guest Reimer, a music producer and singer, as they explored lunch spots in Seoul’s Seodaemun-gu and Yeonnam-dong neighborhoods.
The cast split into teams to try different eateries, with one team heading to a local pizza and beer restaurant while the others remained behind to play a trivia game called the “Eat Quiz.” During a segment centered around identifying world capitals, Lee Yi-kyung casually mentioned, “I lived in Canada when I was a kid,” catching the attention of Kim Dong-hyun, who jokingly responded with suspicion, “Why would you be in Canada?”
Their playful back-and-forth sparked laughter from the group, especially as Lee fired back, “Why, am I not allowed to be in Canada?” The friendly banter set the tone for the rest of the day, with Lee and Kim continuing their trademark Tom-and-Jerry dynamic. As the lunch expedition unfolded, the two remained on opposite teams, engaging in a humorous battle of wits and sarcasm that entertained both cast and viewers.
Reimer stepped in as the self-proclaimed “hip-hop mediator” to diffuse any tension and add to the chemistry of the episode. His laid-back presence served as a comic balance to the energetic exchanges between the regular cast members.
Handsome Guys airs Wednesdays at 8:40 p.m. KST on tvN, continuing its blend of food, travel, and unscripted humor.
