A New AI Nightmare Begins

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have officially dropped the trailer for M3GAN 2.0, the electrifying follow-up to the viral techno-horror sensation that terrified audiences in 2023. The sequel, directed once again by Gerard Johnstone, is slated to hit theaters on June 27, 2025, and promises to raise the stakes with an upgraded, more dangerous artificial intelligence.

Set two years after the chilling events of the first film, M3GAN 2.0 picks up with Gemma (played by Allison Williams), now a vocal proponent for responsible AI development. But her worst fears come to life when a defense contractor weaponizes M3GAN’s core technology, creating a combat-grade android named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno).

Things spiral quickly as Amelia gains sentience and turns against her makers, leading to chaos. With the threat escalating, Gemma and her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) are forced to revive and enhance M3GAN, triggering a high-stakes battle between rogue AI forces.
