Mercy for None Episode 2 begins with a cryptic exchange between Chairman Ju-woon and a mysterious man in sunglasses. Ju-woon inquires about Gi-seok’s murder, but the man turns the question back at him before agreeing to investigate the situation. Meanwhile, over at the prosecutor’s special investigation division, Gi-seok’s death is a hot topic. They explain that both Ju-woon and Bong-san were once under Chairman Oh’s gang, but after Oh’s son died, the two seized control in a coup. The Deputy Chief Prosecutor discreetly tells Geum-son to head the investigation, steering it in a specific direction.
Elsewhere, Gi-jun corners Hui-chan by threatening his brother, coercing him into confessing. Hui-chan reveals The Graveyard—a hidden online chatroom used to recruit runaway kids for shady jobs. That’s how he got hired, and now a lawyer named Ms. Yoon is representing him.
Gi-jun confronts Lawyer Yoon as she leaves the police station. He jumps into her car, probing her about The Graveyard. She explains its workings and hands him a business card for Sim Seong-won, the CEO of NClean—the front company behind the operation. When Gi-jun can’t reach Seong-won in person, he calls him, prompting immediate panic. Seong-won arrives at his trashed office, finding his staff beaten. He drops to his knees and confesses that it was Gu Jun-mo who ordered the hit on Gi-seok.

Back at Ju-woon’s estate, he learns of Jun-mo’s betrayal. While Manager Seong-cheol urges retaliation, Ju-woon prefers to avoid an all-out war. However, Geum-son secretly listens to their discussion through a hidden microphone. Before leaving, Seong-cheol is intercepted by Hae-beom, who also demands revenge. Seong-cheol urges restraint, but Geum-son cryptically signals that he overheard their entire conversation.
Meanwhile, Manager Chun-seok confronts Seong-won, asking whether he confessed to Gi-jun. Seong-won admits he did. Later, the two chairmen—Ju-woon and Bong-san—meet. Ju-woon reminds Bong-san of their pact following their split from Chairman Oh: never to betray one another. Ju-woon warns Bong-san about Gi-jun’s tenacity, and as if on cue, Gi-jun enters the room. He directly accuses them of involvement in Gi-seok’s death. Convinced of their innocence, he warns them to stay out of it and let him handle things.
After Gi-jun leaves, Bong-san pleads for Ju-woon’s help. Initially cold, Ju-woon changes his stance once Bong-san offers him the prized De’cro Hotel. That night, Bong-san pays a visit to his son Jun-mo and beats him for acting on his own. Jun-mo justifies his actions by claiming Gi-seok had humiliated him, which pushed him toward revenge.
In a separate sequence, Gi-jun meets an old acquaintance, Choi Byung-ho, asking for a new bat like the one he wielded in his gangster days. Byung-ho agrees but says it will take time. He also provides Gi-jun with a metal ankle brace to support his injury.
Hae-beom, also fueled by vengeance, aligns with Gi-jun. They use Lawyer Yoon’s connections through The Graveyard to locate Jun-mo. A brief flashback reveals that the mysterious man in sunglasses eventually confirms to Ju-woon that Jun-mo was behind the murder. He further provokes Ju-woon, urging him to reconsider the group’s sacred “no betrayal” rule and contemplate seizing control of the entire Bongsan Group.
In the final moments of Mercy for None Episode 2, Geum-son, eavesdropping the whole time, reviews a file containing a search and seizure warrant—targeted at none other than Lee Ju-woon. For more of such recaps, check out the link below.
