NewJeans Members to Appeal Court Ruling on ADOR Contract Dispute
The NewJeans legal battle has taken a new turn as Sejong LLC, the law firm representing Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, released an official statement following the court’s initial decision.
According to Sejong LLC, the Seoul Central District Court has issued a first-instance ruling in the lawsuit filed by ADOR Inc. against the five members of NewJeans. The court declared that the exclusive contracts between the artists and ADOR remain valid.
However, despite acknowledging the court’s decision, the members made it clear that reconciliation with ADOR is no longer possible. Their legal representatives explained that “it is impossible for the members to return to ADOR and continue normal entertainment activities” due to a complete breakdown in the relationship of trust between both parties.

As a result, the members plan to file an immediate appeal against the ruling. Through this appeal, they seek a more comprehensive review of the facts and legal principles surrounding the termination of their exclusive contracts. Sejong LLC stated that the members “hope the appellate court will render a wise decision after carefully reviewing the circumstances.”
In closing, NewJeans and their legal team expressed deep gratitude to fans, saying, “We sincerely thank all the fans who have waited and supported us for so long.”
