Zion of ONEUS stepped confidently into the solo spotlight with the release of his heartfelt new single, “Not Everyone Speaks of Love (Camellia),” showcasing a bolder and more mature side of himself.
Released today (May 6) at 6 PM KST, “Camellia” marks Zion’s official solo debut, with both the song and its accompanying music video offering a fresh glimpse into the emotional landscape of the group’s beloved youngest member.
A Song for Fans, Inspired by Camellia’s Deep Meaning
Zion first performed Camellia during the final stop of ONEUS’s second world tour in February, where it instantly captured the attention of fans. At the time, he explained the significance behind the title:
“The English subtitle comes from the camellia flower, which symbolizes ‘I love you more than anyone else.’ It’s a message I wanted to give to our fandom, Tsungmun, and also a reflection of the kind of music I want to create.”
From Boyish Charm to Bold Passion
Known for his adorable image as the group’s maknae, Zion surprises with a more grown-up take on love in Camellia. The track delicately traces the nuances of complex emotions—the quiet yet overwhelming feelings that arise between two people who can’t quite define their connection.
Delivered through jazzy melodies and Lofi R&B vibes, Zion’s rich, low-toned vocals bring an air of vulnerability and romantic tension to lines like:
“This feeling, as you know, it’s not love that everyone says. There’s so much in the world that can’t be defined.”
It’s a subtle, poetic confession—one that sets Zion apart from typical idol solo tracks.
Mature Visuals, Smooth Sound: Zion’s MV Leaves a Mark
The music video for “Camellia” matches the song’s intimate tone, featuring Zion in scenes that emphasize a newfound confidence and stylish, refined visuals. His calm yet emotive presence mirrors the song’s themes of unspoken longing and emotional complexity.
With soft lighting, close shots, and minimalist aesthetics, the MV positions Zion not just as a vocalist—but as a full-fledged solo artist with a clear identity.
Zion’s ‘Camellia’ is more than just a solo debut—it’s a heartfelt letter to fans and a bold declaration of the artist he’s becoming.
