Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 12: New Beginnings and Healing Goodbyes
Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 12 begins this emotional finale with Ho-su finally opening his heart to Mi-ji. He apologizes for pushing her away and promises to face any hardship together, echoing his late father’s advice. This time, he hands her a ring while wearing his own, a quiet vow to stick by her side.
Mi-ji, meanwhile, makes her own gesture of love — she arranges for a brand-new sign at Ro-sa’s restaurant. Ro-sa, grateful and lighter now that her name change is official, privately urges Ho-su to hold on tight to the one who makes him smile. She even offers Mi-ji the chance to take over the restaurant someday, though Mi-ji, busy with her upcoming move, still has a lot to figure out.
Later, Ro-sa tries to teach herself to read, flipping through her old notebook filled with poems and notes for Sang-wol, showing that it’s never too late to learn or heal.
Elsewhere, Mi-rae begins carving out her own future too. Inspired by Se-jin’s faith in her, she decides to invest her severance pay to build a stock portfolio and dreams of launching an investment blog to help others. Se-jin agrees to check it out and even lets Mi-rae stay at the strawberry farm for now. But there’s unfinished business: Sang-yeong tries to brush off his past actions, claiming he’s suffered enough. Chung-gu doesn’t let him off the hook — he appears ready to make sure Park truly repents.
At the airport, Mi-rae comes to see Se-jin off. He runs to her, not wanting her to vanish from his life again. They promise to stay in touch as he boards his flight, marking a bittersweet but hopeful pause in their story.
Meanwhile, Ok-hui reassures Bun-hong about their children but is stunned when she walks in on Mi-ji and Ho-su kissing. She playfully scolds them, her shock covering her real concern: she knows about Ho-su’s hearing loss and wants to protect her daughter from heartbreak, even as she finally steps up to help. Ok-hui even offers to help Mi-ji move into a bigger apartment, breaking years of cold distance in their family. Over food, mother and daughter share a moment that begins to heal old wounds.

Ho-su also surprises Bun-hong at her school with flowers, sweetly calling her “mum” — a tender moment that proves they’ve found family in each other. He clears up a misunderstanding about the strawberry farm, proudly telling Bun-hong that Mi-ji is his girlfriend.
As Ho-su undergoes more treatment for his hearing, Mi-ji faces one last heartbreak: Wol-sun, frail and sick, is brought home to spend her final days in peace. Mi-ji struggles to say goodbye but dreams of a healthy, vibrant Wol-sun urging her to live well. In the end, Mi-ji lets her spirit go, promising to carry her strength forward.
One year later, everyone is stepping into a new chapter. Ho-su has learned sign language to better help his clients and earns Chung-gu’s respect, the tough lawyer finally calling him “good.” Mi-ji is now studying psychology in college, and Sang-wol honors their bond by sharing poems onstage — with Mi-ji and Ho-su proudly in the crowd.
Mi-rae has learned to run the strawberry farm’s distribution, showing off just how far she’s come. She stops by Su-yeon’s new job to deliver fresh strawberries, proof that the once-broken cycle of abuse at KFMC is finally behind them.
Outside, Mi-rae is stunned when Se-jin returns unexpectedly. She texts Mi-ji she won’t be coming by — a sign that maybe this time, they’ll get their timing right.
At Ho-su’s place, Mi-ji finds a wedding ring hidden in his drawer, hinting at their next step. And with all the ups and downs behind her, Mi-ji decides exactly what she wants: to become a therapist and help others like herself heal.
As Our Unwritten Seoul Episode 12 closes, Mi-ji reflects on how life is like an unwritten page — blank but waiting for new memories. With every goodbye comes the promise of another beginning.
