KBS2’s music talk show The Seasons: Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile, which aired on the night of May 3, featured a dazzling lineup of artists including Kwon Jin-ah, Sarah Kang, MIOVI (stylized MIOVV), and Jannabi. The show delivered heartfelt performances and intimate conversations, showcasing the diverse musical colors of its guests.
The first guest of the night was singer-songwriter Kwon Jin-ah, who opened with “Up,” an OST from the drama Melo Is My Nature. Recalling her first encounter with Park Bo-gum at Antenna’s office, Kwon said, “I thought, is this what sunshine looks like?” and praised his warm energy: “It felt like he was carrying a reflector—so radiant.”
She performed a series of her emotionally resonant tracks, including “The End,” “Something’s Wrong,” and “Butterfly,” captivating the audience with her signature tone and vulnerability. Park Bo-gum impressed fans by referencing one of her hidden tracks, revealing himself as a true fan. “How do you even know about that?” Kwon replied in amazement.
Their chemistry deepened when Kwon Jin-ah sang “Lucky” and “As Dreaming” while accompanied by Park Bo-gum on the piano. Reflecting on her sixth year in the industry and her new album, she shared, “When I was younger, I didn’t fully understand music. It was difficult and unsettling. But now, I’m just grateful every day that I can tell my story through song.”
In the newly introduced Starry Night segment, Sarah Kang, a Korean-American singer-songwriter based in New York, made a heartfelt appearance. “I got on a plane just for The Seasons,” she shared, discussing her decision to return to the stage after becoming a mother. “There are physical and emotional changes that come with giving birth. I used to think I needed to be younger and prettier to come back. But I want to show my daughter that I can still be a beautiful, loving person in any situation.”
Born in Busan and raised in Los Angeles, Sarah previously worked as an elementary school music teacher before becoming a musician, thanks in part to her husband’s encouragement. She performed “Home” while playing guitar, with Park Bo-gum joining on piano. Their collaboration extended to a special stage of Crush’s “Alone.” Kang ended her segment by expressing her dream of one day receiving a Grammy Award. Touched, Park Bo-gum gifted a small present for her daughter.
Rising girl group MIOVI (stylized as MIOVV) made a bold impression with their debut talk show appearance, performing their debut track “MEOW.” Despite their fierce on-stage persona, the group charmed viewers with their down-to-earth personalities. Describing themselves as an “all-rounder group” with no fixed positions, they shared, “When we first get a new song, we sing it together—and whoever suits a part best gets it.”
Member Ella surprised the audience by revealing she debuted as a child model at just two years old. Interestingly, both she and Park Bo-gum debuted in 2011, prompting the MC to warmly say, “Welcome,” and share a smile and handshake.
Following powerful performances of “Number One Girl,” “Let’s Go to the Stars,” and “TOXIC”—the latter accompanied by Park Bo-gum on piano—the group capped off their segment with their latest single “HANDS UP,” signaling a promising future.
Beloved indie band Jannabi brought a refreshing vibe with their performance of “We Greening.” Vocalist Choi Jung-hoon, returning to The Seasons for the first time since hosting Night Park with Choi Jung-hoon, praised Park Bo-gum’s preparation and professionalism. Currently in the midst of a concert tour, Jannabi also performed fan favorites including “The Hot Summer Has Gone and There’s Nothing to See,” “For Lovers Who Hesitate,” and “Autumn Night Thoughts,” showcasing their signature nostalgia-driven style.
Jannabi recently released their fourth full-length album, with Choi explaining, “I wanted to create an album purely dedicated to music. It’s all about enjoying the sound.” He also revealed admiration for aespa’s Karina, saying, “I think she has such a bright, crisp voice. I was amazed that the group used such poetic language in their music.” When Park Bo-gum asked about a potential collaboration, Choi promised to consider it seriously—sealing the moment with a playful pinky swear.
The Seasons: Park Bo-gum’s Cantabile continues to offer a rich tapestry of musical genres and touching stories. The show airs every Friday at 10 p.m. KST on KBS2.
