Pump Up the Healthy Love Episode 2 kicks off with Hyeon-joong managing a series of frustrating “Gym Villains.” These include a man who sweats excessively and a group of demanding women who make life difficult for everyone else. Amidst this, Mi-ran arrives for her first day of training, feeling unprepared and nervous. Hyeon-joong wastes no time in testing her physical limits—flexibility, strength, endurance—and Mi-ran scores terribly on every aspect. By the end of the day, she’s left with sore muscles, only to wake up the next day with even more pain.
In a humorous voiceover, Hyeon-joong reflects on the strange joy that comes from muscle pain, while Mi-ran struggles to get through the next day. At the gym, Rosa reminds Hyeon-joong of his past clients, most of whom have left him. The plot thickens when Seong-im, one of the gym’s longest-standing members, brings in a new mirror for the facility.
Meanwhile, at her travel agency, Mi-ran’s colleague Ye-jin is concerned about the increasing honeymoon packages Mi-ran is tasked with handling. Mi-ran brushes it off, but when Ye-jin sees a message from Hyeon-joong, she mistakenly assumes he’s Mi-ran’s new boyfriend. She invites Mi-ran to bring him to her wedding, which is also attended by Joon-seok, Mi-ran’s ex-husband. This sparks a mix of excitement and tension for Mi-ran.
Later, Mi-ran impulsively buys a small-size dress, even though it doesn’t fit her, and heads to the gym to share her plans for getting a fat-dissolving shot. Hyeon-joong convinces her that he can help her achieve the same results with his training—and he offers a full refund if she doesn’t fit into the dress. This leads to a fantastical vision where Hyeon-joong scolds Mi-ran for her laziness and poor eating habits. After a grueling workout, Mi-ran admits that although she was skeptical about his “life care package,” she now believes in his methods.
However, Hyeon-joong isn’t convinced, especially when he sees the dress Mi-ran is determined to fit into. He pushes her even harder, subjecting her to a Zumba class in place of the regular instructor, Alex. The class proves too intense for the women, causing them to collapse in exhaustion.
Later, Mi-ran gives in to temptation and buys a snack, only for Hyeon-joong to appear and stop her from eating it. He drags her back for more training, leading to a montage of Mi-ran following his strict workout regimen over the next few days.
To Mi-ran’s surprise, she fits into the dress, and she’s overjoyed. She rushes to the gym to show Hyeon-joong, then nervously asks him to attend a wedding with her. After some persuasion, he agrees. But things don’t go smoothly.
When Mi-ran arrives at the wedding wearing her sister’s dress (as Ji-ran ended up with the new one), she pretends that Hyeon-joong is her boyfriend in front of her colleagues. Though hesitant, Hyeon-joong goes along with it. When Mi-ran sees Joon-seok at the event, she panics and wants to leave, but Hyeon-joong encourages her to face the situation head-on.
As Mi-ran approaches Joon-seok, he comments that she looks beautiful. But as the lights dim, an unexpected and embarrassing moment occurs—glow-in-the-dark words appear on her dress reading “I Love Sex,” leaving Mi-ran mortified. In an attempt to hide, she crouches down, but the back of her dress rips. Hyeon-joong quickly comes to her rescue, covering her with his jacket and escorting her out of the wedding, ending Pump Up the Healthy Love Episode 2 on an awkward yet sweet note.
