Actor Song Joong Ki has once again proven his quiet dedication to his craft. On April 18, fans were surprised when a florist revealed that the star had been attending floral arrangement classes for nearly a year—preparing for his role in the upcoming JTBC drama My Youth.

The florist shared two behind-the-scenes photos of Song Joong Ki from their private lessons, along with a heartfelt message praising his commitment. “Actor Song Joong Ki, who has been attending flower classes with us since last summer. In preparation for his role as Sun Woo Hae, a male florist, he spent a long time steadily learning the fundamentals of floral design and showing incredible dedication and passion — I learned so much from him!”

According to the post, Joong Ki wasn’t just playing the part—he was becoming it. From mastering flower placement to practicing the delicate techniques of bouquet construction, he threw himself into the training with the kind of quiet intensity fans have come to love. “Thank you for always being so thoughtful every time we meet! My Youth, scheduled to air between July and August on JTBC, tells the romantic story of Sun Woo Hae (played by Song Joong Ki), a man who begins his ‘ordinary’ life later than most, and Sung Je Yeon (played by Chun Woo Hee), a woman who disrupts her first love’s peaceful world. With such a nuanced premise, Song Joong Ki’s choice to learn floristry firsthand adds an even deeper layer of realism to his portrayal.

Song Joong Ki, who previously shared that he splits his time between Korea and Italy, appeared on Please Take Care of My Refrigerator earlier this year to promote Bogotá: The Land of the Last Chance. According to a YouTube interview with Choi Hwa Jung, the actor confirmed he and his family live in a newlywed home in Itaewon when in Korea and in Tuscany when in Italy, noting that the balance is for Katy’s comfort, having lived in Italy all her life.
