Netflix is set to return with a darker, more intense twist on its survival reality series with “The Devil’s Plan: Death Room”, premiering May 6.
From renowned producer Jung Jong Yeon—known for his work on “The Genius,” “The Great Escape,” and “Girls’ High School Mystery Class”—the new season raises the stakes even higher. Fourteen contestants from various professional backgrounds will enter a seven-day mental warfare, living together and competing in complex brain games to outwit one another and survive elimination.
What sets “Death Room” apart is the newly revamped game zones: a tense living quarters where alliances and betrayals unfold, and a chilling prison zone, hinting at a rigid hierarchy that could make or break a player’s strategy. The trailer previews a dynamic range of personalities and expressions, alluding to the psychological mind games at the heart of the show.
Producer Jung Jong Yeon stated, “For the new season, the diversity of the characters was the primary casting criterion. Ultimately, the final goal was to find completely new characters.” This fresh casting approach promises unpredictable twists and new rivalries.
With its first four episodes dropping on May 6, “The Devil’s Plan: Death Room” is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of high-tension strategy games and psychological thrillers.
