The Divorce Insurance Episode 12 recap – Key moments and resolution
In Episode 12 of The Divorce Insurance, the drama kicks off with Ki-jun and Han-deul waking up together in bed. Meanwhile, Ah-yeong bumps into Woong-sik while walking her dog, and he spots her wearing the sologamy ring. She pretends to set him up on a blind date and reintroduces herself, revealing that while she’s not interested in marriage, he agrees to stay with her, prioritizing her happiness. Will So-jeong and Dae-bok resolve their issues?
So-jeong and Dae-bok’s relationship progress
Dae-bok, still on relationship probation, continues to make an effort to improve. He joins So-jeong for grocery shopping and even helps with laundry. Despite the temptation to join team dinners and drink, he refrains. So-jeong, having signed up for the divorce insurance, understands its value and accepts that the policy ensures they can build a better future together.
Wanting to do something special, Dae-bok arranges a trip to see the Northern Lights, fulfilling So-jeong’s long-held wish. Although his goofy nature remains, he shows tender care for her. When the Northern Lights appear, Dae-bok compares them to the role of insurance—protecting the earth from solar winds. So-jeong is exasperated but also amused, calling him her “Northern Lights for life,” hinting that she has forgiven him.
Chang-hee’s proposal and policy confirmation
Chang-hee approaches his fiancée of seven years, presenting the divorce insurance policy as a commitment to their future. She, tired of waiting for him to be less busy, finally agrees, feeling assured that their marriage is now confirmed. This resolves the quota issue, but a new problem arises when a report surfaces claiming that Yeo-reum divorced because of the policy, casting negative publicity on the divorce insurance.
The policy gets a second chance
As the controversy unfolds, Han-deul reflects on communication issues with Ki-jun after visiting her parents. She shares her self-reflection, which sparks an idea in Ki-jun—to promote the policy as a self-care tool, helping people look after their marriages and mental health. This shift in promotion wins the approval of the FSS, and the policy is officially launched. Plus General Insurance’s stock rises, signaling success.
Jeon-man’s decision and Na-rae’s future
Na-rae, eager to get a clear answer from Jeon-man, invites him on a movie date. However, he prioritizes resolving the promotional issues and sends her home, leaving her confused. After the policy is approved, the task force celebrates with a beach trip. Jeon-man tries to give her his answer, but Na-rae falls asleep. However, when she heads to the airport alone, Jeon-man catches up with her and apologizes for his delay in giving his answer—he wants to go with her. She’s thrilled, and they kiss. They agree that she will have her own space, and he’s fine with it.
A bittersweet goodbye and character resolutions
During the beach trip, Ah-yeong picks a restaurant so Woong-sik can join the group. The task force teases her, but she’s happily involved with Woong-sik in an undefined relationship. The group feels emotional as Na-rae prepares to leave. Ah-yeong calls her a role model, and Han-deul admits she’s finally comfortable with Na-rae. Na-rae, though stoic, enjoys being called “older sister.”
Later, Ki-jun asks Han-deul about her tarot reading. She reveals she had wondered if she would meet her twin flame, but she knew he was the one the moment they played with the payphone. Ki-jun, too, knew he found his twin flame when he saw her crying at the supermarket. They kiss and embrace.
A sweet epilogue and future plans
In the epilogue, Ki-jun finishes knitting a sweater for his sister, while Han-deul has made a matching one for herself. Wondering what to do next, Ki-jun offers to do it with her, signaling their future together.
The episode ends with the task force testing their final criteria, with their answers aligning with their growth. As Dae-bok clears his desk, Ki-jun has an idea for a “pride insurance,” to which Dae-bok hilariously exclaims, “No!”
