Episode 8 of Weak Hero Class 2 marks a pivotal moment in the series as Eunjang High and the Union gang face off in a final battle that will decide the fate of both factions. The episode opens with Si-eun, who has been discharged from the hospital, gathering Hu-min, Jun-tae, and Hyun-tak to strategize for the upcoming fight. Realizing they will be severely outnumbered, Si-eun devises a clever plan to weaken the Union gang from within by exploiting their greed. Earlier, they learned from Hyo-man that the Union members follow Baek-jin not because of loyalty but because of money. Si-eun makes contact with Seung-je, a trusted ally of Baek-jin, and persuades him to leak details of the Union’s burner account. The revealing information shows that Baek-jin has been siphoning money from the Union members, a total of over 79 million, which leads many of the Union members to bail out, significantly reducing their numbers for the fight.
Despite this victory, Si-eun knows that Baek-jin is still a formidable opponent, and the remaining Union members are still highly skilled. To even the odds further, he and Hu-min come up with a backup plan: if Hu-min is knocked out by Baek-jin, Si-eun will step in and hold out as long as possible to buy Hu-min the time he needs to recover. This strategy requires Hu-min to get back up, a plan that hinges on both his resolve and the support of his friends.
Before the fight, Si-eun receives a message from Seung-je, who suggests they take advantage of Baek-jin’s absence from the bowling alley to gather more evidence. Si-eun agrees to meet Seung-je, but it turns out that Seung-je plans to trap Si-eun at the bowling alley and keep him from the fight. Jun-tae steps up to help Si-eun, leading them to subdue the Union member guarding him at the bowling alley, though Jun-tae is injured in the process. In his final act of loyalty, Jun-tae urges Si-eun to go ahead and fight, as Eunjang High cannot live in fear of the Union any longer.
The fight at the battleground begins with Hyun-tak facing off against Dong-ha, a judo expert who has previously bested him. Despite Dong-ha’s superior skill, Hyun-tak’s endurance and relentless determination win the fight in the end, as he continues to get up after each beatdown and finally knocks Dong-ha out.
The stakes are even higher when Baek-jin and Hu-min face off. Both are evenly matched at first, but eventually, Baek-jin knocks Hu-min out, causing the Union gang to declare victory. However, Baek-jin’s proclamation that Eunjang High will now fall under the Union’s control is challenged when Si-eun arrives just in time to take on Baek-jin. The ensuing fight is brutal, with Baek-jin overpowering Si-eun at every turn. However, Si-eun remains resolute, taking the beating and focusing all his energy on damaging Baek-jin’s leg, a tactic that confuses and frustrates Baek-jin.
As Si-eun endures the punishment, the scene shifts to a critical moment where Hu-min, having regained his strength, steps back into the fight and delivers the final blow to Baek-jin, declaring that the Union will cease to exist. The victory is a triumphant one for Eunjang High, and the students cheer as they finally defeat the gang that has tormented them. Baek-jin is left sprawled on the ground, unable to continue the fight, symbolizing the end of an era for both the Union and the dominance they once held over the school.
With the Union defeated, Eunjang High returns to a sense of normality, though the shadow of what happened still lingers. Hyo-man, the former school bully, is elected as the new school president, and Si-eun begins to spend more time with his friends, no longer burdened by the constant threat of the Union. However, Si-eun is left wondering about the fate of Baek-jin, as his whereabouts remain unknown. Si-eun muses over whether Baek-jin ever solved the math question about variables and constants, a metaphor for the complexities of life and relationships that are left unresolved.
In a surprise twist, Si-eun receives a call at the end of the episode, and he and his friends rush to the hospital. To everyone’s shock, Su-ho, who had been in a coma, wakes up and recognizes Si-eun when he rushes to his side. Su-ho is pleased to hear that Si-eun has made friends and is doing well, marking a poignant moment of growth for Si-eun and his relationships with others.
The epilogue takes a dark turn when Mr. Choi, who had once been a prominent figure in the Union, approaches Seung-je with an offer to replace Baek-jin. However, Seung-je refuses, demanding to know Baek-jin’s whereabouts. The scene cuts to a somber moment where Hu-min is seen sobbing at Baek-jin’s funeral, reflecting the complicated emotions that remain after the intense battles they all fought.
