The hit Naver Webtoon “Zombie Daughter” by Lee Yoon-chang is coming to life on the big screen. The film adaptation, titled Zombie Daughter (also known as My Daughter Became a Zombie), has officially confirmed a July theatrical release and unveiled its first launch poster, stirring excitement among fans of the original series.
Zombie Daughter is described as a comic drama centering on a desperate father who undergoes top-secret training to protect his daughter—the last remaining zombie in the world. The newly revealed poster captures this unusual dynamic: father Suh (played by Cho Jung-seok) is seen protectively clutching his daughter Sua (played by rising child actress Choi Yu-ri) while nervously concealing her identity. Her haunting red-tinged eyes hint at her undead nature, raising curiosity about what lies behind her innocent appearance.
The poster’s ironic tagline, “My child doesn’t bite,” adds a layer of humor to the film’s emotional and action-packed premise. With a daughter who is more unpredictable than a moody teen and a father scrambling to keep her safe from a world that wouldn’t understand, the story promises to mix heartfelt comedy, family drama, and zombie chaos.
The film boasts a strong cast, including Lee Jung-eun of Parasite and Exit fame, and Cho Jung-seok, known for his commanding summer blockbusters. Choi Yu-ri, who impressed audiences in Alienoid and as Kim Tae-ri’s daughter, is expected to deliver a standout performance.
Directed by a filmmaker known for genre thrills in Hostage and Lucky Ojin Day, and produced by Studio N (the team behind Sweet Home and Severe Trauma Center), Zombie Daughter combines sharp storytelling with emotionally charged action.
The film is slated to hit theaters nationwide in July, bringing a fresh take on zombie survival with a tender father-daughter twist.
